Bowling Assn. Elects Anton Luza Lifetime Member

The Bryan-College Station Bowling Association elected Anton Luza as a lifetime member. He has served 2 yrs. as pres ident, 2 yrs, as secretary,& serval yrs. as director. He is
starting his 40th yr. as secretary of the Major Bowling League. He is.the oldest member, having joined in 1953.

Anton participates in the Texas Ten Pin Bowling Association
annual tournament & is the local voting delegate at its annual
meeting in La Grange.

Anton is a charter member of the Texas State Knights of
Columbus Bowling Association & was elected to its Hall of Fame
in 1981: He is the only bowler who has bowled in all 39 annual
bowling tournaments. He currently serves as a state director.
Anton is a Honary Life Member of Mgr. Gleissner Council
# 1834 and currently serves as a 3 year trustee.

40th Annual Knights of Columbus State Bowling Tournament

The 40th Annual Knights of Columbus State Bowling Tournament will be held on April 17-18 & 24-25, 2004 at the AMF WOODLANDS Lanes in Conroe. For more information contact Bro. The 31st Annual CACEY QUEENS STATE BOWLING TOURNAMENT will be held the same weekends as the Knights of Columbus tournament, and is open to all wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, widows, grand-daughters,& niece of any Knight of Columbus member. Charity Golf Tournament Supports Round Rock Area Serving Center

Round Rock, TX (July 8, 2003) — On June 14, 2003, Knights of Columbus Council #12148 of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Round Rock hosted its 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Some 150-area golfers participated in the event at Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock and helped raise money for local charities. This year, the major beneficiary was the Round Rock Area Serving Center.
The tournament was highly successful and enjoyed by all. Landy Warren, Chairman of the Round Rock Area Serving Center and Lori Scott, Serving Center Executive Director were presented a check for $10,000. In total, the event raised some $14,000 for local area charities.
Financial support for the tournament came from sponsorships and from participant entry fees. Corporate and individual sponsors were The MONY Group, First Texas Bank, Alcoa-Rockdale, Popeye’s Fried Chicken (Official Food Sponsor), The Round Rock Leader (Official Media Sponsor), RPM Raceway, Chase Bank, Gattiland, Luce Leaf Designs (Official Signage Sponsor), Intergalactic Web Services, 620 Pet Resort @ Brushy Creek, Putt-Putt Golf & Games, Hill Country Dairies (Official Desert Sponsor), Brown Distributing (Official Beverage Sponsor), Maxwell Dodge, Linda DeMarco – Coldwell-Banker Realtors, Lewis & Kathy Aven, Mike South, Paul & Teresa Dumas, Brian Schneider, Daryl Ching, and Vera Bloomer for the Serving Center.
The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal service organization that supports charity, unity, and patriotism. The Round Rock Area Serving Center is a non-profit organization supported by eighteen churches and several businesses in southern Williamson County.
The Round Rock Area Serving Center provides under-privileged, low income and disadvantaged citizens in our area with financial assistance for utilities, rent, prescription medication, transportation, and temporary lodging. It also operates a food pantry. 75 volunteers staff the center. Last year, a total of 32,549 people received assistance through the Serving Center, an increase of 28% in caseload over 2001.

Knights of Columbus Texas State Mixed Bowling Tournament 11th Annual 2003, Killeen, Texas

On August 9 & 10, 2003, the Texas Knights of Columbus held theState Mixed Bowling Tournament in Killeen. While participation was a little light, the spirit of fellowship and good old competiveness was rolling high.
